Breast Lift

Breast Lift Honolulu, Kona-Hilo, Oahu, and Maui, Hawaii

breast lift is a procedure that lifts and repositions female breasts. The procedure is also known as mastopexy. During a mastopexy procedure, Dr. Schlesinger removes excess stretched skin, reshapes the breasts, and lifts the nipples to a higher position. There are varied reasons why patients seek this procedure. Many women find that as they mature the forces of gravity take over, or after pregnancy, breasts begin to droop, sag and lose shape. The medical term for this sagging condition is “ptosis.” For other women, upper portions of the breasts begin to lose fullness and projection. The goal of lift is to make your breasts look perkier, fuller and more youthful.

A Breast Lift Addresses…

There are four basic problems with a breast that requires a mastopexy: The areola is too big, the areola sits too low, the breast is hanging on the chest wall, and the breast lacks fullness and projection on the upper quadrant. Mastopexy will address the first three problems but you must add an implant to gain fullness in the upper quadrant.

Is This Procedure Right for You?

Consider that lift surgery by itself does not enlarge the breasts. A breast augmentation/enlargement can be accomplished concurrently with a lift. A breast enlargement is particularly effective in filling out the upper portions of your breast. If you feel you will benefit from an enlargement and a lift, you may discuss both options fully with Dr. Schlesinger during your free initial consultation.
